Twenty Years, 20,000 Women, and a Boutique Built for What’s Next

On Wednesday, October 28, our Client Ambassador Melissa Camacho stood in our newly refreshed Union Square boutique and said this:

“Dress for Success didn’t just give me clothes—it gave me confidence, dignity, and hope.”

Her words captured the spirit of a day that marked two milestones at once: the Grand Reopening of our refreshed boutique, and 20 years of serving women across the Bay Area, including the 20,000th woman we served, reached this October.

Melissa, our Client Ambassador, shares her story with guests at our Boutique Grand Reopening.

A Space That Reflects the Women We Serve

Thanks to a partnership between Macy’s and Dress for Success Worldwide, our center, where women are styled for interviews and career transitions and receive coaching and core skills training, now features an updated fitting room, improved accessibility, and a more welcoming environment for every woman who walks in.

Dress for Success San Francisco is one of only two Dress for Success network members in the country selected for this fall’s Boutique Grand Reopening.

Celebrating Together

San Francisco Board of Supervisors President Rafael Mandelman joined us to present a Certificate of Honor from the City of San Francisco. Board President Jill Unikel and Executive Director Erin C. Badillo welcomed 30 VIPs for the ribbon cutting before opening the celebration to the women we serve, volunteers, donors, corporate partners, and community leaders.

We are grateful to Macy’s, Athleta, Benefit, and Board Director Jeanine Thorpe for their partnership and generosity. Special thanks to all our volunteers, and Comms Committee members Lucy Li for helping us capture the event, and Sally Haims for her amazing media outreach.

Twenty years of showing up. 20,000 women served. And a boutique that reflects what this community has built together.

Dress for Success San Francisco/San Jose empowers women to achieve economic mobility by providing a network of support, workplace attire, and career skills and tools for success.
