On October 22, 250 guests filled the San Jose Woman’s Club for Women Who Inspire, Dress for Success San Jose’s signature fundraiser. Together, they raised more than $175,000 to support women across the South Bay as they build careers and move toward economic mobility.
The evening celebrated five honorees who open doors for others: Olympic champion Kerri Walsh Jennings, philanthropist Helen Owen, Nicholas E. Adams Executive Chairman of NINICO, Voahangy Rasetarinera Founder and CEO of The Giving Pies, and Sonia Arteaga, our Spark Award honoree and Client Ambassador.
Sonia brought the room to its feet as she shared how she went back to school at 30, graduated from San Jose State, and launched her own marketing business.
“I went back to school wondering if I was too late. And TODAY, I’m standing here before you, a college graduate, a business owner, and a marketing professional.”
Moments like this are why we do this work, in San Jose and here in San Francisco. Together, our two offices have now served more than 20,000 women across the Bay Area.
Dress for Success San Francisco/San Jose empowers women to achieve economic mobility by providing a network of support, workplace attire, and career skills and tools for success.
