JUTHAPORN

After surviving over 15 years of homelessness and drug addiction, Juthaporn’s story is both remarkable and inspiring.

“There was nothing traditional about this job search program. Every week we learned from different mentors in the community - successful women were taking time out of their busy schedules to come volunteer by teaching us the tools we need to be successful.”

— Juthaporn

Juthaporns determination to rebuild her life for the benefit of herself and her 6 children shows the greater impact one woman’s success can have on a community.

Juthaporn joined Dress for Success San Francisco in February 2018 when she was referred for an Interview Suiting appointment and there, she learned about additional resources to support her career journey. She joined the 6 week Going Places Network job search program in which she improved her resume and refined her interview skills, landing a job at a local catering company and then at Bloomingdales.

This experience motivated Juthaporn to continue her education so she can further her career in a meaningful way. In 2020 she earned her BA in Liberal Studies at San Francisco State University and a certificate as a Residential Counselor. She now works for the Progress Foundation where she is making a difference serving as a relief counselor.

She has stayed engaged with Dress for Success, remaining an active part of Professional Women’s Group (PWG) employment retention program continuing to build her professional acumen and is an influential member of the Dress for Success San Francisco community.
