Women’s Equality Day: 2043 Is Too Long to Wait for Equal Pay
Today is Women’s Equality Day — a day to honor progress, reflect on the work ahead, and take action to create a more equal future.
In California, the wage gap persists: white women working full time earn only about 90¢ for every $1 earned by men with even greater inequities for women of color and those in low-wage work.
At the current rate, women will not receive equal pay until 2043, according to the Institute for Women’s Policy Research.
