Congratulations, Godavari! Celebrating 15 Years at Dress for Success
This week, we’re celebrating a milestone that deserves real recognition: our Programs & Operations Director, Godavari Ghosh, is marking 15 years with Dress for Success San Francisco/San Jose!
Godavari started with us as an intern while finishing her master’s program at the University of San Francisco and over the years, she’s grown right alongside the organization (earning her MBA and even an Executive Chef degree from Le Cordon Bleu along the way). And yes, it’s true: she’s also an amazing baker. We’re all beneficiaries of this particular talent.
In 2016, Godavari stepped in to lead our San Jose office and did what she does best—she built something strong, steady, and deeply impactful. For 4.5 years, she commuted from San Francisco to Milpitas multiple days a week, showing up with consistency, care, and a level of commitment that still makes us shake our heads in awe.
When COVID changed everything overnight, Godavari helped us pivot fast, launching digital services and standing up an online Career Center within weeks of shelter-in-place. She didn’t just help us keep going, she helped us move forward, and even supported other affiliates in doing the same.
Since stepping into a Director role in 2020, Godavari has continued to shape our work in meaningful ways: streamlining programs, strengthening how we capture and share client data and outcomes, and leading the implementation of our program technology in 2025. In other words: she’s been a driving force behind some of the biggest steps we’ve taken as an organization.
But what stands out most about Godavari is this: she leads with deep care. She is steady, thoughtful, and tireless in her advocacy for the women we serve. She shows up, she follows through, and she makes everyone around her better. As we continue to grow across San Francisco and San Jose, Godavari’s leadership remains central to how we do this work with care and intention.
Godavari—thank you for 15 years of leadership, heart, and impact. We are so grateful for you, and we’re honored to celebrate this moment with you.
Congratulations!
