2023 Impact:

Your support directly impacts Bay Area Women. Learn more about our mission and what we accomplished in 2023.

19 years of support.

Dress for Success San Francisco has been empowering women to achieve economic independence for 19 Years by providing employment resources, services, technology and a network of support.

At a time when economic gains among women have been compromised, our work is more critical than ever.

As we look ahead to our 20th year of serving women in the Bay Area, let’s take a moment to reflect on this past year and how far we’ve come.

Looking back on 2023:

  • We had our most successful year since before the pandemic.

In 2023, we served 857 women in San Francisco and San Jose. Our San Jose office actually served more women than they did in 2019, a huge accomplishment considering the impact Covid-19 had on our programming.

  • We celebrated growth of our programs.

In 2023, we partnered with Google to implement our Google Certification Program, offering online learning to women to advance their careers. We also brought back our Financial Literacy Program in person for the first time since the pandemic and hosted a Digital Literacy Program with Glassdoor.

  • We had four clients receive TJ Maxx Scholarships.

TJ Maxx generously supported 20 Dress for Success clients with Maxx You Grants, including 4 women from our San Francisco/San Jose Affiliates! Congratulations to our clients: Lourdes Garibay, Kezia Villias-Martinis, Christina Walsh, and Anna Yin.

Established in partnership with TJ Maxx's The Maxx You Project, this scholarship program helps women in the United States who are seeking to advance in their profession, set a new career path, or re-enter the workforce and confidently express their full self in their career and beyond.

  • We welcomed new board members.

We were thrilled to welcome Anita Battle, Susannah Howard, Dave Lacampagne, Darlene Fong and DeLynn Senna to our Board of Directors.

We also honored outgoing board members Marc Crayton and Michelle Whitman at our annual Holiday Soiree. We are so grateful to Marc and Michelle for their roles in our organization’s growth over the past ten years!

  • We expanded our programming to reach more women.

With an increase in Spanish-speaking clients, we worked to make sure any client who comes to Dress for Success can benefit from our programs. We recruited more Spanish speaking volunteers and are developing more programming that will be run entirely in Spanish.

  • We deepened our impact.
